ABOUT THIS WINE
The Basserman-Jordan Forster Jesuitengarten Riesling GG is a dry white wine from the Pfalz region of Germany, produced by Weingut Geheimer Rat Dr. von Bassermann-Jordan. It is made from 100% Riesling grapes grown in the historic Jesuitengarten vineyard, a site known for its unique soil composition of basalt, sandy loam, and limestone. The vineyard has been under the estate's stewardship since 1793. The estate itself has a long history, founded in 1718. The 2022 vintage reflects the specific conditions of that year, including a hot growing season followed by rain during the harvest period.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes for this Riesling GG are gently pressed. Fermentation is carried out spontaneously using natural yeasts. Fifty percent of the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks, while the other fifty percent ferments in large, old oak barrels. Following fermentation, the wine is aged on its lees. The 2022 harvest involved careful management due to weather conditions, with harvesting continuing into early October.
