ABOUT THIS WINE
Contadi Castaldi was founded in 1987 by Vittorio Moretti in the heart of Franciacorta, Lombardy. The estate uniquely repurposed the historic 1880 Furnace Biasca di Adro brickworks into its winery cellar, where long, arched underground cooling galleries maintain naturally cool and humid ambient conditions ideal for Metodo Classico bottle aging. Working with over 40 long-term local grape growers across more than 100 hectares of vineyards, Contadi Castaldi blends grapes from diverse microclimates across the region to produce balanced, accessible, and expressive sparkling wines.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Harvest takes place manually between late August and early September. Grapes undergo soft pressing and cold static settling before fermenting for 20 days in stainless steel tanks with partial malolactic fermentation. A portion of the base wine is aged for 7 months in oak barriques. Drafted in May for secondary fermentation in the bottle, the cuvée spends 20 to 26 months aging on its lees. After disgorgement, it receives a Brut dosage of approximately 6 g/L residual sugar followed by 3 to 4 months of bottle refinement before release.
