ABOUT THIS WINE
Franck Massard, former UK Sommelier of the Year (1996), created 'El Mago' (The Wizard) as a tribute to his children, Maya and Hugo. The whimsical label was hand-drawn by his son Hugo at age eight. Based in the high-altitude village of Villalba dels Arcs in Terra Alta, Catalonia, Massard challenges the regional norm of heavy, high-alcohol white Grenache by crafting a remarkably fresh, mineral-driven style from organic vineyards situated up to 580 meters above sea level.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are hand-harvested from 12 to 18-year-old organic vines grown on clay, sand, and limestone soils. After destemming and gentle direct pressing, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 18°C for approximately ten days. The wine is then aged on its fine lees for four months in stainless steel, followed by three months in third-fill oak barrels to enhance texture and complexity without imparting dominant oak flavors.
