ABOUT THIS WINE
Frasca La Guaragna was founded in 2018 through a collaboration between Curt Frasca, an Italian-American music producer, and Matteo Gerbi, an esteemed Piedmontese winemaker with experience at Bruno Giacosa, Gaja, and G.D. Vajra. Based in the Asti region of Piedmont, the estate places Barbera at the center of its focus, aiming to showcase the profound potential of this classic variety. The vineyards are situated in Nizza Monferrato, Agliano Terme, and Moasca, planted on calcareous marls that impart a distinct mineral freshness to the wine.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed without intense crushing to preserve primary aromatics. To capture micro-terroir differences, the estate conducts separate fermentations for approximately 15 individual vineyard plots. No punch-downs (follatura) are performed during fermentation to ensure exceptionally soft and delicate tannin extraction, accompanied by a long, steady maceration. The wine is aged entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to emphasize pure fruit expression, followed by refinement in the bottle.
