ABOUT THIS WINE
Maison Frerejean Frères was founded in 2005 in the Grand Cru village of Avize by the three Frerejean-Taittinger brothers: Guillaume, Richard, and Rodolphe. The brothers carry a unique dual heritage, descending from both the historic Frerejean master metalworkers who supplied Napoleon's army and the legendary Taittinger Champagne family. Operating independently, the estate focuses on treating Champagne as a great still wine first, prioritizing low dosage, sourcing exclusively from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards, and championing exceptionally long lees aging. The house is highly regarded in the culinary world and serves as the official Champagne partner of the Michelin Guide awards.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Crafted using the traditional method, this Champagne is a blend of 60% Grand Cru Chardonnay from Cramant and Chouilly, and 40% Premier Cru Pinot Noir from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. A defining feature of the process is the inclusion of 12% still Pinot Noir red wine, which is aged in oak barrels for one year to introduce subtle micro-oxygenation and structural roundness before blending. Following secondary fermentation, the wine undergoes an extensive aging process on its lees in the cellars of Avize for a minimum of six years (and up to eight years for some disgorgements) before being finished with a low dosage of approximately 6.5 grams per liter.
