ABOUT THIS WINE
G de Château Guiraud 2023 is a dry white wine from Bordeaux, France, produced by the esteemed Château Guiraud. This estate is a Premier Grand Cru Classé in Sauternes, celebrated for its sweet wines, and was the first Grand Cru Classé estate in the Médoc to achieve organic certification. The wine is crafted from a blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes, grown on vines averaging 25-35 years old in sandy gravel and clayey gravel soils. The 2023 vintage benefited from favorable weather conditions during the growing season, leading to high-quality fruit. A distinctive aspect of this wine's production is its aging in barrels that previously held Sauternes, adding a unique layer of complexity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
G de Château Guiraud 2023 is produced using a blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. The winemaking process involves fermentation in barrels, with some portion also in stainless steel vats. Notably, some of the barrels used for fermentation have previously held the estate's Sauternes. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes aging on its lees in wooden barrels for a period of seven months. The estate employs organic farming practices and emphasizes biodiversity in its vineyard management. Manual harvesting is practiced to ensure the selection of optimal fruit.
