ABOUT THIS WINE
Catherine Dumora is a former anthropologist who transitioned to winemaking in Auvergne after conducting environmental fieldwork in Brazil and Morocco. In 2019, she embarked on a solo path under her estate L'Egrappille in Lamontgie, restoring abandoned, high-altitude old-vine parcels on steep slopes. G(U)Ri is an ethereal, vibrant expression of Gamay grown on complex soils of granite, schist, quartz, and amethyst, reflecting the unique volcanic terroir of the region.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
For the 2022 vintage, G(U)Ri was crafted using a unique infusion method: 50% of the Gamay grapes were directly pressed, while the remaining 50% were destemmed and infused in the direct-press juice for two weeks. Fermentation occurred with 100% native yeasts in neutral tanks. The wine was aged for nine months in sandstone, terracotta, and earthenware jars (amphorae) to preserve fruit purity and volcanic minerality. It was bottled without any fining, filtration, or added sulfur.
