ABOUT THIS WINE
Fulcrum Wines, founded by winemaker David Rossi, is dedicated to crafting exceptional, small-lot Pinot Noir that highlights the unique terroirs of California's finest vineyards. The Gap's Crown Vineyard, nestled in the wind-swept Petaluma Gap AVA of Sonoma County, is legendary for its challenging growing conditions. Heavy fog and intense marine winds force the grapes to develop thick skins, resulting in remarkable concentration, structure, and balanced acidity. Rossi's hands-on, minimalist approach ensures that this prestigious vineyard's distinctive maritime character is fully expressed in every bottle.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are hand-harvested in the cool early morning hours to preserve freshness. Upon arrival at the winery, they undergo careful sorting. Fermentation takes place in small open-top fermenters with native and selected yeasts, utilizing gentle punch-downs to extract color and fine tannins without over-extraction. The wine is aged for approximately 11 to 15 months in French oak barrels (typically around 35-40% new) to add complexity and texture while preserving the vibrant fruit profile. It is bottled unfined and minimally filtered.
