ABOUT THIS WINE
The Garage Isidore Vineyard Semillon is a unique expression from the Maule Valley, Chile. It originates from the Sauzal zone, an area known for its dry-farmed secano interior and decomposed granite soils. The Semillon vines were planted in the 1940s and have been farmed using traditional, hands-on methods, including horse and hand cultivation, for over six decades, maintaining uncertified organic practices. The wine is a tribute to the resilience of this often-overlooked grape variety and the heritage vineyards it comes from. Garage Wine Co., the producer, was established with the aim of reviving old vineyards in marginalized Chilean communities, focusing on small parcels and traditional winemaking techniques.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Garage Isidore Vineyard Semillon is produced using traditional and minimal interventionist techniques. The grapes are hand-harvested from old vines. Fermentation takes place naturally in amphora with native yeasts, and the juice remains in contact with the skins for an extended period, typically around eight to eleven months, contributing to the wine's amber hue and structure. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes a year of aging in a combination of amphora, flex eggs, old barrels, and used barriques. The vineyard is farmed using traditional dry-farming methods, with a history of uncertified organic practices spanning over six decades.
