ABOUT THIS WINE
Georges Deschamps Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume Les Vaupulans 2022 is a single-plot cuvée from Domaine Vrignaud, located in the Fourchaume appellation of Burgundy's Chablis region. The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown on Kimmeridgian limestone soil, with vines averaging 30 years of age. Domaine Vrignaud is committed to organic farming practices. The Les Vaupulans parcel is identified by winemaker Guillaume Vrignaud as his premier plot. The Vrignaud family has a long history of winemaking, with Guillaume continuing the legacy established by his father Denis and great-grandfather André. The domaine transitioned from cooperative membership to independent production, focusing on wines that reflect the land's character: vivacity, minerality, and finesse.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Georges Deschamps Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume Les Vaupulans 2022 is produced from 100% Chardonnay grapes. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks utilizing indigenous yeasts. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 10 months on its lees in oak barrels. It then spends additional time in a combination of stainless steel vats and 30% new oak barrels. The harvest for the 2022 vintage occurred in early September. Domaine Vrignaud is committed to organic farming practices.
