ABOUT THIS WINE
Goli Breg is a red wine from the Vipava Valley in Slovenia, produced by the family-run Fedora winery. The wine is a blend of 45% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25% Refosco, with the Refosco contributing a unique fruity character. The name 'Goli Breg' translates to 'Naked Hill' and is derived from a local legend about a talented winemaker. Fedora winery, with a history dating back to 1880, follows a philosophy of minimal intervention, organic, and partly biodynamic farming practices. The vineyards are located on the Erzeljski hrib, Golenbreg, and V Meji sites, characterized by marl and sandstone soils at elevations of 200-250 meters.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Goli Breg is produced using a hands-off approach that begins with hand-harvested grapes. The wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation for 30 days with extended skin contact, utilizing native yeasts. Following fermentation, it is aged for 12 months in old 225-liter oak barrels. Minimal sulfur is added only at bottling. The winery adheres to organic and partly biodynamic farming practices, focusing on natural fertilization and avoiding synthetic pesticides.
