ABOUT THIS WINE
Azienda Agricola Gradis'ciutta's Collio Pinot Grigio DOC is a distinguished white wine from the renowned Collio region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy. The estate, founded by Robert Princic, is deeply connected to its land, with vineyards situated in municipalities like San Floriano del Collio. The wine is made exclusively from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes, cultivated on the distinctive 'ponca' soil, a mineral-rich mix of clayey marl and sandstone. Gradis'ciutta is committed to sustainable practices, having achieved organic certification for its vineyards. This Pinot Grigio represents a high-quality, terroir-driven expression of the grape, distinct from more common styles due to its careful production methods.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The production of Gradis'ciutta's Collio Pinot Grigio DOC begins with hand-harvested grapes, selected for optimal ripeness. A gentle pressing is followed by a potential short maceration period at low temperatures. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures to preserve the grape's aromatic integrity. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes an aging period of about six months on its fine lees in stainless steel. This 'sur lie' aging contributes to the wine's texture and complexity. The estate is committed to organic viticulture and sustainable farming practices, with low yields encouraged to maximize grape quality.
