ABOUT THIS WINE
Gran Arzuaga 2018 is a red wine from Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro, located in the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. This wine is a blend primarily of Tinto Fino (92%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (8%). The grapes are sourced from vineyards situated on both banks of the Duero River, with Tinto Fino from Olivares de Duero and Cabernet Sauvignon from the La Planta estate, known for its limestone soils. The vineyards are at high altitudes, benefiting from a climate that promotes optimal grape ripening. Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro was founded by Florentino Arzuaga with a focus on producing wines with backbone, elegance, and complexity, employing a philosophy that blends tradition with modern winemaking.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Gran Arzuaga begins with manual harvesting in small boxes, followed by grape selection. Pre-fermentation maceration at low temperatures is employed before alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 28°C, reaching up to 29°C. Malolactic fermentation and aging on fine lees take place in barrels. The wine is subsequently aged in French oak barrels for 20 months. The winery's philosophy emphasizes producing wines with backbone, elegance, and complexity, integrating tradition with modern techniques.
