ABOUT THIS WINE
The Bodega Piedra Negra Gran Lurton Blanco 2021 is a white wine from Argentina's Uco Valley, Mendoza. It is a unique blend primarily composed of Friulano, with contributions from Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc. The wine pays homage to the white wines of Friuli, Italy, a region with which the producer, François Lurton, has a deep appreciation. François Lurton, a member of a prominent Bordeaux winemaking family, founded Bodega Piedra Negra and was a pioneer in establishing vineyards in the high-altitude Uco Valley. The region's high elevation and specific soil type contribute to the wine's character.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Bodega Piedra Negra Gran Lurton Blanco begins with manual harvesting in crates, with grapes selected at their aromatic peak. A pre-fermentation maceration is followed by pressing. Fermentation occurs in barrels, with a portion undergoing malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged on its fine lees with regular stirring, and the Friulano component spends nine months in French oak barrels. The winery practices organic farming.
