ABOUT THIS WINE
Oppeddentro Grana d'Elia 2022 is an Italian red wine from the Marche region, classified as IGT Marche Rosso. It is a blend of 60% Sangiovese and 40% Montepulciano. The winery, Oppeddentro, was founded in 2017 by four friends who are committed to authentic winemaking, emphasizing tradition and minimal intervention. Their estate is situated in a historic 15th-century building in Maiolati Spontini. The wine's name, Grana d'Elia, is a tribute to a family member who assisted with winemaking. The label was designed by the son of one of the founders, depicting a grape on the hillside of Maiolati Spontini. Oppeddentro is a member of VinNatur, an association that supports natural winemaking practices.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Oppeddentro Grana d'Elia 2022 is produced using a minimal intervention approach. Grapes are harvested between mid and late September. Vinification involves spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by a maceration period of two to three weeks with soft foot-treading. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged in stainless steel tanks on its lees. The use of sulfites is minimized, with the 2022 vintage having a total of 28 mg/l of SO2 at bottling. The wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined.
