ABOUT THIS WINE
The Grattamacco Bolgheri Rosso 2022 is a red wine from the Bolgheri DOC in Tuscany, Italy. Produced by ColleMassari Spa Società Agricola under the Grattamacco estate, it is a blend typically featuring Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Sangiovese. Grattamacco was established in 1977, making it a pioneer in the Bolgheri appellation. The estate, now part of the ColleMassari Group since 2002, is committed to organic farming practices. Its vineyards are situated on one of Bolgheri's few hills, at altitudes between 100-200 meters, on soils composed of quartzose sandstone, white clay, and marly limestone flysch. This wine represents an accessible expression of the Super Tuscan style, a designation that emerged from this region.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Grattamacco Bolgheri Rosso 2022 is produced using a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Sangiovese. Grapes are fermented in stainless steel vats at temperatures between 24-30°C, with a maceration period of around 28 days involving punchdowns. After malolactic fermentation, approximately half of the wine is aged for about 8 months in used French oak barriques, while the remainder is aged in stainless steel. The estate employs certified organic farming practices and has historically utilized innovative vineyard techniques such as the Alberello method.
