ABOUT THIS WINE
The Arnaldo Caprai Grecante Grechetto 2023 is a white wine from the Colli Martani DOC in Umbria, Italy, crafted from 100% Grechetto grapes. The name 'Grecante' connects it to historical wines appreciated during the Renaissance, with Montefalco's Grecante being a valued gift. Arnaldo Caprai, a family winery founded in 1971, is recognized for its commitment to sustainability and its role in championing Umbrian wines. This wine represents a singular expression of the Grechetto grape, reflecting its varietal characteristics through the specific terroir of the alluvial plains at the base of the Montefalco hills, characterized by clay and limestone soils. The 2023 vintage experienced a rainy spring followed by warm, dry summer conditions, with cool September nights aiding balanced ripening.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Grecante Grechetto 2023 is produced using 100% Grechetto grapes from vineyards located on alluvial plains with clay and limestone soils. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, with approximately half of the harvest undergoing a few days of skin maceration during this process. Malolactic fermentation is avoided. The wine is then aged for three months in stainless steel tanks, followed by a minimum of three months of bottle aging. Sustainable farming practices are employed in the vineyards.
