ABOUT THIS WINE
The Greda 2019 is a white wine from Brkic Winery in Herzegovina, Bosnia & Herzegovina, primarily made from the indigenous Žilavka grape with a small addition of Bena Krkosija. The wine originates from the 'Greda' vineyard, a plateau characterized by karst limestone soils at elevations between 250-400 meters. Brkic Winery is a family-run estate with a long history, now led by Josip Brkic, who champions biodynamic farming practices and the preservation of local grape varietals. The winery emphasizes minimal intervention in its winemaking process, aiming to reflect the purity and balance of the land. This wine is distinctive for its use of indigenous grapes, biodynamic viticulture, and aging in traditional Bosnian oak.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Greda 2019 is produced using biodynamic farming methods. Grapes are fermented using indigenous yeasts. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes an extended aging process of 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, with some indications of aging in local Bosnian oak. The winery emphasizes a philosophy of minimal intervention, utilizing gravity for wine movement and avoiding pumps and filtration when feasible to preserve the wine's natural character.
