ABOUT THIS WINE
The Grüner Veltliner "Handcrafted" by Martin & Anna Arndorfer is a testament to natural winemaking from Austria's Kamptal region. Produced by the passionate duo Martin and Anna Arndorfer, who champion organic and biodynamic farming, this wine is intentionally left in its purest form. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered, often resulting in a hazy appearance that signifies its unadulterated nature. While from the esteemed Kamptal, its style may lead it to be labeled more broadly as Niederösterreich. The Arndorfers' philosophy centers on minimal intervention, allowing the grape and the unique soils of Strass im Strassertale—a mix of loess, clay, and primary rock—to express themselves authentically. This "Handcrafted" bottling is their vision of an 'original Grüner Veltliner without make-up,' offering a direct connection to the vineyard.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The "Handcrafted" Grüner Veltliner undergoes a natural winemaking process. Grapes are spontaneously fermented using indigenous yeasts, a practice that allows the wine to develop a unique character derived from its environment. A brief period of skin contact, around a week, is employed to extract additional flavor and texture. Following fermentation, the wine is aged, primarily in stainless steel tanks, to maintain its freshness. Crucially, the wine is bottled without fining or filtering, preserving its natural state and often resulting in a hazy appearance. This minimal intervention approach is central to the Arndorfers' winemaking philosophy, aiming to capture the pure essence of the Grüner Veltliner grape and its terroir.
