ABOUT THIS WINE
The Micheletti family is a deeply historical, multigenerational agricultural clan that has owned their estate land in Bolgheri since 1960. Headed by Enio Micheletti and run directly by his sons Maurizio and Moreno, they maintain a personal, hands-on, artisan approach to their modest 20-hectare estate, of which only about 5 hectares are planted with grapevines. Guardione represents their Cabernet-centric Bolgheri Superiore, designed to showcase the distinctive alluvial-gravel mineral footprint of Castagneto Carducci.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are hand-harvested in perforated crates during the middle of September. Following a manual selection, the whole berries undergo gentle pressing. Traditional fermentation takes place for 20 to 25 days at controlled temperatures. The wine is then aged for 15 months in French oak barriques, 50% of which are new, before being bottled and refined in the cellar prior to release.
