ABOUT THIS WINE
The Gustav Riesling Trocken is produced by Gustav Adolf Schmitt, a winery with a rich history dating back to 1648 in Nierstein. This producer was an early adopter of international markets, including Japan and Canada. The wine originates from the Gutes Domtal grosslage in Rheinhessen, a region known for its extensive vineyards along the Rhine River. Gustav Adolf Schmitt operates under a "Grape to Bottle" philosophy, aiming for comprehensive quality control throughout the winemaking process. The wine is made by Moselland, a grower's cooperative established in 1968, which facilitates resource sharing and production expertise among its members.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Gustav Riesling Trocken is produced from 100% Riesling grapes grown in Rheinhessen. The winemaking process begins with grapes harvested separately according to vineyard site and must weight. Individual vineyard lots are then vinified separately in small, temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks using selected yeast. Following fermentation, the wine is stored in tank until bottling. This approach emphasizes preserving the purity of the grape and the expression of the terroir.
