ABOUT THIS WINE
Hasher Family Wines is located in the cool-climate Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley of South Africa. The estate is situated just five kilometers from the cold South Atlantic Ocean, benefiting from constant maritime breezes and morning mists. This unique terroir, dominated by decomposed granite and clay soils, allows for slow ripening and excellent natural acidity. The 'Nauticus' cuvée represents the maritime influence on their vineyards, producing a Sauvignon Blanc with distinct saline characteristics.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Hand-harvested grapes are chilled overnight, destemmed, and gravity-fed. After 48 hours of settling, 55% of the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve primary fruit. The remaining 45% is fermented spontaneously with wild yeasts in concrete eggs and seasoned French oak barrels. The wine is matured on its lees for five to six months prior to bottling, with 15% in neutral oak and up to 30% in concrete eggs to enhance texture and mineral integration.
