The estate, located in the southern Chianti mountains of Valdarno di Sopra, is a family-run operation founded by Wolf and Bettina Rogosky, now managed by their son Moritz, mother Bettina, and daughter Carla-Elle, in collaboration with winemaker Marco Maffei. Their winemaking philosophy centers on quality and minimal intervention, akin to 'haute couture' craftsmanship. The 2020 vintage was influenced by challenging harvest conditions, leading to a wine of notable finesse.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Podere Il Carnasciale employs a meticulous winemaking process focused on minimal intervention and respect for the grape. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented separately in small stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation occurs in French oak barrels, followed by 22 months of aging in a combination of new and used French oak. The wine is then bottled manually and unfiltered, with an additional 16 months of bottle aging before release. The estate practices organic farming, utilizing no chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides, and all vineyard work is performed by hand.
