ABOUT THIS WINE
Manincor Il Conte is a red wine from the Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT in Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy. The blend comprises Lagrein, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine originates from the Manincor and Panholzerhof vineyards, situated on a southeast-facing slope at 250 meters above sea level, with soil composed of sand, clay, limestone, marl, and moraine. The estate, Manincor, boasts a history dating back to 1608 and is managed by Count Michael Goëss-Enzenberg and his wife Sophie, who have implemented organic and biodynamic farming across their 50 hectares of vineyards. The wine's name, 'Il Conte,' translates to 'The Count,' reflecting the estate's heritage, while the winery's philosophy is encapsulated by the motto 'Man-in-cor,' signifying their dedication to natural winemaking and ecological respect.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Manincor Il Conte 2021 is produced from hand-harvested grapes. Fruit from different vineyard sites was spontaneously fermented separately using native yeasts in wooden, concrete, and stainless steel vats. Maceration lasted ten days, with daily punching down of the cap, managed gently to achieve fine-grained tannins. Following fermentation, the wine was aged for 12 months in neutral French oak barrels (used barriques) on its lees. The estate adheres to certified biodynamic and organic farming practices, including Respekt certification.
