ABOUT THIS WINE
Il Raduno delle Streghe is an artisanal collaborative project masterminded by Michael Schmelzer, the highly acclaimed winemaker and owner of the biodynamic Tuscan estate Monte Bernardi. Sourced from the province of Benevento in Campania, Southern Italy, this wine represents a bridge between the region's volcanic terroir and low-intervention winemaking. The name, which translates to 'The Gathering of the Witches,' pays homage to local folklore designating Benevento as a historic gathering place for European witches who allegedly danced around a sacred walnut tree along the Sabato River.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process emphasizes minimal intervention to preserve the pure regional character of the Falanghina grape. Grapes are harvested by hand from organic vineyards situated on limestone, clay, and volcanic soils. Fermentation is carried out spontaneously using native yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, completely avoiding oak contact and malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged briefly on its fine lees to build subtle texture before being bottled unfined and with minimal filtration.
