ABOUT THIS WINE
Les Bois Perdus is an exciting natural wine project founded by Léna Perdu and Alexis Robin, who spent nearly a decade working in the Paris film industry before pursuing their passion for viticulture. In 2019, they settled in Aubignas, a small commune in the southern Ardèche, building their home and cellar. While waiting for their newly planted estate vines to mature, they established a négoce operation to source organic grapes from trusted local winegrower friends. The cuvée 'Illuminée' is a chameleonic release; its grape composition shifts dynamically each year depending on the season's harvest. The 2024 vintage is a single-varietal Viognier, which proved essential for the estate after a devastating July hail storm destroyed much of their own estate crop.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
In the cellar, Léna and Alexis follow a philosophy of minimal intervention: 'only grapes, nothing else.' For the 2024 Illuminée, the hand-harvested Viognier grapes underwent immediate direct pressing upon arrival at the winery. Fermentation was carried out entirely by indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks to preserve the grape's vibrant primary aromatics and mineral tension. In keeping with their natural wine ethos, the wine was vinified with zero additives—no commercial yeasts, enzymes, or added sulfites—and was bottled unfined and unfiltered to maintain its raw energy and texture.
