ABOUT THIS WINE

The Douro Valley's unique climate and terrain are fundamental to the production of this wine. Sandeman is now part of Sogrape Vinhos.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Sandeman Invalid Port is produced using the traditional Port wine method. Hand-picked red grapes are destemmed and crushed before fermentation, which takes place under controlled temperatures with skin maceration to maximize extraction. Fermentation is arrested by the addition of grape spirit, a process known as fortification, to achieve the wine's characteristic sweetness and alcohol content. Following production, the wine typically undergoes aging in oak casks.
