The grapes are grown in the Rioja Alavesa sub-region, known for its high-altitude, old vines planted in calcareous soils. The 2023 vintage was influenced by a warm summer, prompting an early harvest. WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Izadi Selección Blanco is produced using a blend of six indigenous white grape varieties from old vines in Rioja Alavesa. The grapes are sourced from south-facing vineyards at elevations between 400-600 meters. Viticulture follows integrated practices. The 2023 vintage saw an early harvest due to heat. Vinification involves fermentation in a mix of barrel, stainless steel, and concrete, utilizing gravity flow. Crucially, the wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation to retain its acidity. It is then aged for five months in 225- and 500-liter barrels before bottling.
