ABOUT THIS WINE
Rogue Vine was launched in 2011 in a modest one-car garage in Concepción, Chile, by Leonardo Erazo and Justin Decker. The duo met while teaching at the local university and bonded over a shared passion for reclaiming the historic, neglected heritage vineyards of the Itata Valley. Their hands-off philosophy honors the traditional grape-growing communities of southern Chile. This wine is sourced from the Palma Vineyard in the Guarilihue zone, featuring 65-year-old dry-farmed bush vines planted in 1960. The ancient soils consist of decomposed Paleozoic granite mixed with quartz and clay, ploughed traditionally using horses.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are hand-picked and fermented as whole bunches on their skins using natural yeasts in concrete tanks without temperature control. The young wine undergoes a two-month skin maceration to extract color, structure, and phenolics. Following maceration, the wine is racked and aged in old, neutral 500-liter French oak barrels and concrete globes. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur dioxide added.
