ABOUT THIS WINE
The K-or Malbec 2019 is a 100% Malbec from the AC Cahors appellation in Southwest France, produced by Clos Troteligotte. The vineyard is located on an iron-rich plateau at a high elevation, with calcareous-clay-siderolithic soil. The estate is farmed organically and biodynamically, with vines averaging 25-30 years old. Winemaker Emmanuel Rybinski employs indigenous yeasts for fermentation in unlined concrete tanks, followed by a long maceration. The wine is aged for 12-18 months in unlined concrete vats on its fine lees. The 'K-Or' name is a wordplay on Cahors, with the label's red 'K' referencing the iron notes perceived in the wine.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The K-or Malbec 2019 is produced using grapes from organically and biodynamically farmed vines. Harvest is done by hand with yields around 40 hectoliters per hectare. Fermentation occurs using indigenous yeasts in unlined concrete tanks, preceded by a cold pre-fermentation maceration. The wine undergoes a long maceration with manual punching down of the cap. Minimal or no sulfur is added during vinification. Aging takes place for 12-18 months in unlined concrete vats on the fine lees.
