ABOUT THIS WINE
K1 by Geoff Hardy is located in the Kuitpo sub-region of the southern Adelaide Hills. Geoff Hardy, a fifth-generation descendant of South Australian wine pioneer Thomas Hardy, recognized the potential of this cool-climate site in 1986 and planted the first commercial vineyard in the area. The 'Middle Hill' range represents estate-grown wines that capture the distinct terroir of these sloping, sandstone-rich vineyards, offering an elegant, cool-climate alternative to the warmer, more robust styles of Shiraz found in neighboring regions.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Crafted by award-winning winemaker Shane Harris, this Shiraz is sourced from estate vines planted in 1986. The viticultural team employs low bud count pruning to naturally restrict yields and concentrate flavors. Following harvest, the fruit undergoes fermentation and is subsequently matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, of which 25% is new oak and 75% is older, neutral oak, preserving the bright fruit profile while adding subtle structural complexity.
