ABOUT THIS WINE
Donnafugata's Kabir Moscato di Pantelleria DOC 2022 is a naturally sweet white wine from the volcanic island of Pantelleria, Sicily. The name 'Kabir' signifies its noble character, derived from the indigenous Zibibbo grape. The wine is a product of Pantelleria's unique terroir and the Rallo family's long-standing winemaking tradition, established in 1983. The island's challenging conditions necessitate 'heroic viticulture,' with vines cultivated using the traditional 'alberello pantesco' system, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage practice. The 2022 vintage was characterized by regular weather patterns, leading to healthy grape ripening.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 2022 Kabir Moscato di Pantelleria is produced from 100% Zibibbo grapes. Harvest is carried out by hand in stages. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of 14-16°C to preserve aromatics. The wine undergoes aging in stainless steel tanks for 3-4 months, followed by 3-4 months of bottle aging before release. Donnafugata's approach emphasizes the expression of indigenous grape varieties and the unique terroir of Sicily, with a commitment to sustainable practices.
