ABOUT THIS WINE
Established in 2007 by Kelley Fox and her father Gerson "Gus" Stearns, Kelley Fox Wines is built on a minimal-intervention, site-expressive model. Kelley, a biochemist turned winemaker, was deeply mentored by the late David Lett of The Eyrie Vineyards. Her goal is absolute transparency, making unadorned wines that directly reflect the land, the vines, and the unique energy of each site. Sourced from the historic Carter Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills, this bottling represents a deep connection to Oregon's viticultural history.

INTERESTING FACTS
Fact 01
Vines at Carter Vineyard were planted on their own roots (franc de pied) in 1983, which is increasingly rare in the Willamette Valley.
Fact 02
This 2021 bottling marks only the second vintage of Carter Vineyard Pinot Noir produced by winemaker Kelley Fox.
Fact 03
The vineyard's volcanic Nekia soil features a thin topsoil layer, contributing to the wine's distinct, mouthwatering salinity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 2021 vintage was harvested on September 19, 2021. Vinification was carried out in small-lot vessels using 100% native yeasts with no chemical additions. The fermentation incorporated approximately 30% to 40% whole clusters. The wine was aged for 10 months in tight-grained, neutral French oak Burgundy barrels (228 liters) to preserve the pure voice of the vineyard without any new oak influence. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered on May 27, 2022.
