ABOUT THIS WINE
The Kir-Yianni Estate Assyrtiko 2023 is a white wine from the PGI Florina appellation in Macedonia, Greece. It is made from 100% Assyrtiko grapes, a varietal traditionally grown on Santorini but here cultivated in a cooler, mountainous northern region. The estate, founded in 1997 by Yiannis Boutaris, continues a four-generation winemaking tradition, focusing on high-quality, terroir-driven wines. The vineyards are situated on the Amyndeon plateau at altitudes of 600-700 meters, with poor, sandy soils and a microclimate influenced by nearby lakes. This bottling represents a northern expression of the Assyrtiko grape.
