ABOUT THIS WINE
The Nekresi Estate Kisi Qvevri is a dry amber wine made from 100% Kisi grapes, a variety native to Georgia's Kakheti region. The wine is produced using the traditional Georgian qvevri method, where fermentation and aging occur in large, buried clay vessels for six months, followed by stainless steel and bottle aging. This ancient technique, recognized by UNESCO, imbues the wine with its characteristic amber color and structured tannins. Nekresi Estate, established in 2019, embraces a farm-to-table philosophy, drawing inspiration from the nearby historic Nekresi Monastery. The 2021 vintage, with 13.5% ABV, is noted for its pronounced intensity and a 'White Fruit' aroma. The wine has received recognition, including a Silver Prize at the Asia Wine Trophy.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Nekresi Estate Kisi Qvevri is made using the traditional Georgian method of fermenting and aging wine in qvevri, large earthenware vessels buried underground. The 100% Kisi grapes undergo fermentation with extended skin contact in these qvevri for six months. Following this, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks and then spends at least a year in bottle. This process is central to the wine's amber color, full body, and structured tannins. Nekresi Estate focuses on natural winemaking principles, aiming for minimal intervention to express the unique character of the Kisi grape and its terroir.
