ABOUT THIS WINE
The Kunin Wines Jurassic Park Natural Chenin Blanc 2020 is a 100% Chenin Blanc from the Jurassic Park Vineyard in Santa Barbara County's Santa Ynez Valley. This vineyard, established in 1982, is characterized by its fossil-rich, sandy, and limestone-laden soils, situated at approximately 1000 feet elevation and cooled by Pacific breezes. Kunin Wines, founded in 1998 by Seth Kunin, is a family-run winery that emphasizes a passionate and personal approach to winemaking. This particular wine is produced with a natural winemaking philosophy, meaning it is made without added yeasts or sulfur, and is bottled unfined and unfiltered. The winemaking is inspired by natural styles, aiming to express the pristine fruit from the Jurassic Park Vineyard.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Kunin Wines Jurassic Park Natural Chenin Blanc 2020 is produced using a minimal intervention approach. The grapes are harvested from old vines and are crushed and destemmed, similar to red wine production. The juice and skins are left together for 21 days, during which wild yeasts on the skins initiate and complete fermentation in an open-top vessel. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for nine months in neutral oak barrels. The wine is then bottled unfined and unfiltered, with no added yeasts or sulfur.
