ABOUT THIS WINE
La Bastide Blanche 2020 is a red wine from the Bandol appellation in Provence, France, produced by Earl Bronzo. The wine is primarily composed of Mourvèdre (83%), with smaller proportions of Grenache and other varieties including Cinsault, Syrah, and Carignan. The estate's vineyards are situated in the foothills of the Sainte-Baume mountain range, on limestone scree soils. Earl Bronzo, founded in 1972, acquired La Bastide Blanche with the aim of producing high-quality Bandol wines. The estate has since expanded and modernized its facilities. The vineyards have been farmed organically since 2009 and biodynamically since 2020, with vines averaging over 30 years of age. The 2020 vintage benefited from warm and dry conditions.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for La Bastide Blanche 2020 begins with hand-harvested grapes that are destemmed before fermentation. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks utilizing natural yeasts, with regular punch-downs of the cap to facilitate extraction. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes an 18-month aging period in French oak barrels, with 25% of the barrels being new. The estate has been farmed organically since 2009 and biodynamically since 2020, with an emphasis on low yields.
