ABOUT THIS WINE
La Bruja is a regional red wine crafted by Comando G, a pioneering winery founded in 2008 by viticulturists Fernando García and Daniel Landi in the rugged Sierra de Gredos mountains. The winery is celebrated for redefining Spanish Garnacha, shifting the paradigm from heavy, high-alcohol styles to ethereal, translucent wines reminiscent of fine Burgundy. Sourced from high-altitude, old bush vines grown on weathered granitic soils, this wine captures the unique, cool-climate mountain terroir of the region. The 2024 vintage represents a historic milestone, being one of the first releases vinified in their brand-new, minimalist granite cellar in Villanueva de Ávila.

INTERESTING FACTS
Fact 01
The name Comando G is a nod to a 1980s cartoon, but also stands for its core pillars: Garnacha, Gredos, and Granito (granite).
Fact 02
A severe spring frost in 2024 slashed yields by over 50%, resulting in an extremely limited production of just 22,678 bottles.
Fact 03
To save the 2024 vintage, Comando G sourced old-vine Garnacha from new plots in El Tiemblo, blending it with remaining estate fruit.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for the 2024 vintage reflects Comando G's low-intervention philosophy. Hand-harvested grapes underwent partial or 100% whole-cluster fermentation with spontaneous, indigenous yeasts in open oak vats. Maceration was exceptionally gentle, lasting between 30 and 40 days with regular cap wetting (pigeage) to extract fine-grained tannins. The wine was aged for 8 months in a combination of large, neutral French oak foudres (ranging from 1,500 to 6,000 liters) and neutral clay amphorae. No new oak was used, preserving the pure expression of the granite soils. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered in August 2025.
