ABOUT THIS WINE
La Haute Ronze is a 100% Gamay red wine from the Régnié AOC in Beaujolais, France, produced by Nicolas Chemarin. This single-vineyard wine originates from the La Haute Ronze lieu-dit, where vines average 45 years old and are planted on a unique terroir of pink granite and clay soils at 400 meters elevation. Nicolas Chemarin, a fourth-generation winemaker, champions natural winemaking, employing low-intervention techniques to express the purity of the fruit and the distinctiveness of the vineyard. He approaches organic farming, follows lunar cycles, and uses indigenous yeasts for fermentation. The wine is a testament to his philosophy of sincerity and depth, reflecting its origin with minimal manipulation.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Nicolas Chemarin crafts La Haute Ronze using natural winemaking techniques. The grapes undergo whole-bunch fermentation with indigenous yeasts and semi-carbonic maceration in cement tanks at low temperatures. After maceration, which lasts 15 to 25 days, the wine is aged for nine months in used Burgundy barrels (4-10 years old). A minimal dose of SO2 is added only before bottling. The wine is intentionally unfined and unfiltered to maintain its natural character and integrity.
