ABOUT THIS WINE
La Loba 2019 is a 100% Tempranillo red wine from the DO Ribera del Duero appellation in Spain, specifically from the high-altitude sub-region of Matanza de Soria. The wine is produced by Bodegas La Loba, founded by Ana Carazo. A significant characteristic of this wine is its origin from ancient vines, over 100 years old and many of which are pre-phylloxera. The name 'La Loba' and the label imagery are inspired by Ana Carazo's grandmother, reflecting a deep connection to family heritage. The winemaking philosophy emphasizes respect for nature and allowing the land to express itself through minimal intervention.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
La Loba 2019 is produced using 100% Tempranillo grapes. The winemaking process emphasizes minimal intervention. Fermentation is spontaneous, utilizing native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 9 months in used French oak barrels. Following barrel aging, it undergoes at least one year of bottle aging before release. The harvest is performed manually. The vineyard practices are organic in nature, though not officially certified.
