ABOUT THIS WINE
La Méridionale is crafted by Maison Jeanjean, a historic producer founded in 1870 in Saint-Félix-de-Lodez, Languedoc. Now in its sixth generation of family leadership under Brigitte Jeanjean, the estate is a benchmark for the diverse terroirs of Southern France. This cuvée is part of a range designed to capture the breezy, sun-drenched lifestyle of the Mediterranean coast, hence the name 'La Méridionale' (The Southern One). Sourced from clay-limestone and gravelly-sandy plots across the warm plains of the Pays d'Oc, the wine represents an approachable, modern style of Languedoc winemaking, prioritizing freshness and immediate drinkability.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for this dual-varietal blend focuses entirely on preserving fresh fruit expression. The Merlot and Syrah grapes are harvested and fermented separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel vessels to maintain their distinct varietal characteristics. To ensure a vibrant, fruit-forward profile, the wine is kept entirely unoaked, avoiding any wood contact. After fermentation, the components are carefully blended, filtered, and bottled early under screwcap to lock in their youthful energy and prevent oxidation.
