ABOUT THIS WINE
La Oveja Blanco Natural, meaning 'The White Sheep Natural', is a 100% organic Torrontés from Bodega Santa Julia in Maipú, Mendoza, Argentina. The name was inspired by a pet sheep raised by the Zuccardi family's children, reflecting the winery's personal and nature-focused ethos. Bodega Santa Julia, a pioneer in sustainable and ethical winemaking, was the first in Mendoza to receive 'Fair for Life' certification. This natural wine is crafted with minimal intervention, including no added sulfites and being bottled unfiltered, to showcase the pure expression of the Torrontés grape and its terroir. The grapes are sourced from the winery's own certified organic vineyards in the warm Maipú region, known for its sandy and alluvial soils.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
La Oveja Blanco Natural is produced using 100% organically grown Torrontés grapes from Maipú, Mendoza. The winemaking process emphasizes minimal intervention. Key techniques include fermentation with indigenous yeasts and a 15-day maceration period with skin contact, which imparts texture and depth. Crucially, no sulfites are added during production, and the wine is bottled unfiltered to preserve its natural character. The wine does not undergo any oak aging, allowing the pure fruit and floral notes of the Torrontés grape to shine through. Grapes are handpicked from the winery's sustainable and organic vineyards.
