ABOUT THIS WINE
The Lançon family's roots in Châteauneuf-du-Pape date back to 1264, when their ancestors arrived from Italy to serve the Avignon Popes. Direct descendants of the illustrious Barberini family, which produced Pope Urban VIII, the family honors this heritage with their historic crest on the bottle. Today, eighth-generation winemaker Florent Lançon leads the estate with a regenerative vision, championing biodiversity, polyculture, and organic practices. While 'La Solitude' is an accessible Côtes-du-Rhône, it is crafted with the same meticulous standards and biodynamic philosophy as the estate's highly acclaimed Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are harvested in the cool morning hours to prevent oxidation and are fully destemmed and hand-sorted. Fermentation takes place naturally using wild, indigenous yeasts in traditional concrete vats, with a long maceration period of approximately 25 days to gently extract color and supple tannins. To preserve the vibrant primary fruit and fresh character of the vintage, the wine is aged for 12 months entirely in concrete and stainless steel vats, with absolutely no oak contact.
