ABOUT THIS WINE
La Vinya del Pi is a rare, low-intervention red wine crafted under the El Solà d’Ares project in the prestigious DOQ Priorat. Directed by renowned winemaker and academic Toni Sánchez-Ortiz, this micro-production is born from the rugged, slate-rich 'llicorella' soils of Torroja del Priorat. The wine is a testament to extreme viticulture, where old vines endure severe drought conditions on steep, terraced slopes. Known as a 'cupatge sequera' (drought blend), the grape proportions are dynamically adjusted each vintage to preserve freshness and structural balance against the region's increasingly arid climate.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Crafted by winemaker Toni Sánchez-Ortiz using 'smart fermentations' and low-intervention methods. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented using only native yeasts, followed by natural settling without chemical fining. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (both new and one-year-old) to integrate its robust structure. Bottled with minimal sulfur dioxide (total sulfites under 10 mg/L), preserving the purest expression of the Priorat terroir.
