ABOUT THIS WINE
La Comarcal is a collaborative project founded in 2017 by childhood friends and winemakers Javi Revert and Víctor Marqués, who previously worked together at Celler del Roure. Their mission is to rescue historic, high-altitude vineyards and champion native grape varieties in Valencia, moving away from international grapes. Sourced from the high-altitude village of La Font de la Figuera, specifically the 1975-planted Paraje Los Juncarejos parcel, this wine represents the new, fresh Mediterranean Spain. Beginning with the 2024 vintage, the wines are fully processed in Revert's newly built estate winery in his home village, ensuring complete quality control.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Hand-harvested grapes undergo immediate whole-cluster pressing in a pneumatic press, followed by a 12-hour static cold-settling. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeasts, primarily in concrete vessels with a small portion in neutral French oak barrels. The wine is aged for 6 months on its fine lees without stirring (bâtonnage) in concrete and neutral oak to preserve freshness and build texture, before being bottled unfined with minimal filtration.
