ABOUT THIS WINE
G.D. Vajra is one of the most revered estates in Barolo, established in 1972 by Aldo Vaira. Aldo was a pioneer of organic farming in the region, turning back to traditional methods when modern chemical-heavy farming was the norm. Located in the high-altitude commune of Vergne in Barolo, the estate is now run by Aldo, his wife Milena, and their children Giuseppe, Francesca, and Isidoro. The Langhe Rosso is crafted as a friendly, versatile introduction to the estate's style and the indigenous grapes of Piedmont, showcasing the family's dedication to elegance, freshness, and drinkability.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes for the Langhe Rosso are harvested by hand from estate vineyards. Each variety—Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, and small portions of Freisa and Albarossa—is vinified separately to respect its unique ripening cycle and character. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with gentle maceration to preserve bright fruit aromatics and avoid over-extraction of harsh tannins. The wine is aged entirely in stainless steel and neutral tanks for a short period before blending and bottling, ensuring no oak influence masks the pure, vibrant expression of the Piedmontese terroir.
