ABOUT THIS WINE
Claré J.C. by G.D. Vajra is a unique homage to forgotten 17th-century Nebbiolo winemaking traditions from Piedmont. Produced in Vergne, the highest village of the Barolo zone, this cuvée recreates a historic style recorded in 1606 by Gian Battista Croce, jeweler to the House of Savoy. The name honors both Croce and Thomas Jefferson, who praised pale, energetic Nebbiolo wines in 1787. Sourced from organically farmed estate vineyards across the Barolo appellation, it offers a distinct narrative perspective on Nebbiolo.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Crafted using certified organic Nebbiolo, approximately 20% of the fruit undergoes whole-cluster fermentation. Following a short maceration, the wine is racked off the skins to finish fermentation in closed stainless steel vats, capturing a gentle natural vitality. Aging occurs briefly without oak before early bottling in February to retain maximum freshness.
