ABOUT THIS WINE
The 2019 Langhe Nebbiolo Gavarini by Azienda Agricola Elio Grasso is a 100% Nebbiolo wine from the Langhe DOC in Piedmont, Italy, specifically from the Gavarini cru in Monforte d'Alba. The wine is produced from younger vines of prestigious Barolo crus, offering a more approachable style often referred to as a 'baby Barolo.' A distinctive aspect of its production is the exclusive use of stainless steel for aging, which preserves the grape's inherent fruity and floral characteristics. The Grasso family's philosophy emphasizes their role as grape farmers first, honoring traditional Langhe farming practices and vinifying each vineyard site separately to express its unique identity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 2019 Langhe Nebbiolo Gavarini is produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes sourced from the Gavarini cru. Viticulture follows traditional Langhe farming methods, with manual harvesting typically occurring in early October. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with daily pumping over. Malolactic fermentation is also employed. Post-fermentation, the wine undergoes aging exclusively in stainless steel tanks, without any oak influence, to preserve its fresh, fruity, and floral characteristics. Bottling occurs in April-May of the year following the harvest.
