ABOUT THIS WINE
The Luigi Voghera Langhe Nebbiolo 2022 is a red wine from the Langhe DOC appellation in Piedmont, Italy, made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. The Voghera family has a long-standing history in winemaking, with the estate established in Neive in 1974. Current owner Livio Voghera follows traditional winemaking techniques, focusing on estate-bottled wines. The vineyards are situated in the Langhe area, known for its calcareous and clayey marl soils and south/south-east facing slopes, which are conducive to Nebbiolo cultivation. The wine is often seen as an accessible entry point to the Nebbiolo varietal, offering a classic expression from the region.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Luigi Voghera Langhe Nebbiolo 2022 is produced using traditional red wine fermentation methods. This involves a 10-day maceration period followed by a 15-day fermentation at controlled low temperatures (24-28°C) in stainless steel tanks, with soft pressing of the grapes. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 10 months in large Slavonian oak casks. The harvest typically takes place in early October. The producer's philosophy emphasizes traditional techniques and sustainable farming practices.
