ABOUT THIS WINE
Podere Giocoli is a multi-generational, biodiverse farm located northwest of Arezzo in the pristine Valdarno Superiore region of Tuscany. Winemaker Marco Cannoni took full control of the family estate in 1998, transitioning it from bulk wine production to a dedicated, quality-focused natural estate. Operating as a cohesive ecosystem, the farm produces organic honey, olive oil, and ancient grains alongside its vineyards. Cannoni is highly regarded for his meticulous hand-pruning and commitment to preserving the authentic, uncontaminated terroir of the Pratomagno mountain foothills.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand from a single Cabernet Sauvignon block planted in 2000. In the cellar, the fully destemmed fruit undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats, without temperature control or chemical inputs. Following a 15-day skin maceration, the wine is aged extensively to respect the vintage. For example, the 2018 vintage underwent 46 months of maturation, with two-thirds in used oak barrels and one-third in new oak. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur additions.
